Myofacial pain syndrome: a common cause
for chronic pain

According to PI guru, Dr. Lewkovich, a most common undiagnosed and untreated residual problem for trauma victims is the myofacial pain syndrome [MPS].

MPS is a convenient ‘catch-all’ that can refer to myalgia, myofacitis, and fibromyositis. What is hard to appreciate is why few DC’s actually use this diagnosis in whiplash patient with chronic symptoms

The question is what basic information does one need to know about MPS in whiplash cases?

Dr. Lewkovich compresses hundreds of pages on information on a one page fact sheet.

Some symptoms include: localized pain, difficulty sleeping deeply or hyper sensitivity.

We get PI Questions
Q. When is the proper time to release a trauma patient?
A. When the patient is at least 80% pre-existing status. Old school believed care for patient should last years. “Medical economics” changed that severely. Therefore, it is imperative to list all UN-resolved issues that could last years.

AIR BAGS KILL

In a remarkable study published by University of Georgia stated flatly that “ evidence shows that air bags do more harm than good. “

For 20 years cars were required to have air bags to prevent passengers from moving about the car upon a sudden trauma. Manufacturers claim the bags are really fluffy pillows. Actually there are anti-personnel bombs. Deploying at 200 mph --- the bags shoot out like a rocket into the human. Which is worse, a rocket to the head or the head crashing to the steering wheel, no one knows for sure.

Hundreds of air bag deaths are collected by the NHTSA. But more common are fractures, contusions, abrasions and concussions. The Georgia study, was published by the American Statistical Association [Vol 18, no 2]

The real safety advance says the Georgia study is seat-belt usage, which reduces the odds of death by 67 %. In fact, as seat belts become more effective in preventing the person from moving air bags are redundant & dangerous.

Yet more manufacturers are adding side, rear and roof [!!] air bags.
